Karnataka Government has decided to conduct Competitive exam to recruit for 1765 vacant posts of Pre-University College (PUC) Lecturers in Karnataka. Usually KPSC use to conduct the recruitment process all these years. This time govt. has decided to ask KEA to conduct the competitive exam and recruit lecturers. 

This is the second time KEA is getting more responsibility. First the PGCET was assigned to KEA instead of VTU. Now responsibility of conducting PU College Lecturers Recruitment exam is assigned instead of KPSC. Earlier KEA was only assigned with the responsibility of conducting Common Entrance Test (CET) for getting admissions into Professional Courses like Engineering, Medical, Architecture etc. in the colleges of Karnataka. Apart from these duty nothing else was on the shoulders of KEA and they have seasonal work only during CET Exam & Counseling. So to keep them busy round the year govt. might have giving more jobs to KEA and there by reducing the overload of other govt. bodies like KPSC, VTU which is already handling lot of recruitment & other activities.
