Karnataka CET 2010 Examinations on 28-29 April 2010

Karnataka Examination Authority has announced the Notification for Karnataka CET-2010. As the Seat sharing agreement was signed by govt. with the private medical and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka, the path is clear for conducting CET-2010.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the “Common Entrance Test-2010” for admissions to first year Medical / Dental / Indian System of Medicine - Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2010-11.

A candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture. The Government has directed the Karnataka & Examinations Authority to conduct Common Entrance Test on 28-04-2010 and 29-04-2010 for the year 2010-11 for admission to Medical, Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine / Homoeopathy/ Engineering / Technology courses as per the following Time Table.

Eligibility criteria:

For Medical/Dental Courses:

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCB(40% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply. Also a candidate should have attained the age of 17 years but not more than 25 years as on 31st December, 2010.

For Engineering Courses:

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Mathematics and any of the Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology with atleast 45% aggregate marks in optional subjects(40% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply.

For Architecture Course:

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics with atleast 50% aggregate marks in all the subjects(45% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply. Candidates should have also appeared in NATA and got atleast 40% marks in it.

Availability of Application forms:

The forms for Karnataka CET will be available in schools and colleges of the Karnataka CET. For those residing outside Karnataka the form can be obtained by post from KEA by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form.

Examination scheme:

There will be separate papers for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Each paper will consist of 60 objective type questions and will be of 80 minutes duration.
