Attention: UGC has  extended the Date for fee submission and date for online application submission. Last Date to Apply is extended upto Oct 31, 2011. Last date for submitting the hard copies of application to the chosen center is extended upto Nov 08, 2011.

Universities Grant Commission (UGC) announced First Session of National Eligibility Test (NET) for the year 2011. The candidates seeking eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Fellowship can take this exam. Important Dates :

• Application Submission Start Date : 29-3-2011
• Application Submission End Date : 25-4-2011
• Last date for receiving the documents* at the test center: 2-5-2011
• Examination Date : 26-6-2011

Age Limit :

• Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years as on 01.06.2011.
• Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

• Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer) : Rs.225/-

Karnataka Examination Authority the autonomous body conducts Common Entrance Test(CET) for getting admissions into Engineering, Medical, Dental, Ayurveda and other Professional Courses in the colleges of Karnataka.

KEA announced examination dates of CET 2011 and will be conducted on April 27th and 28th 2011. The higher Education minister Dr.V.S Acharya told reporters. KEA also hold talks with COMED-K to conduct single CET to help students. There was around 5000 seats vacant in previous year and finally transferred to CET by COMED-K. If a single CET is conducted this issue will be solved.

From this year KEA is also thinking about making CET application process online. Earlier the students have to send applications through colleges through post.  The KEA is contemplating issuing and receiving CET 2011 applications online. Sources in the KEA confirmed the plan to revamp the application process.

The official Notification for issue of prospectus and application process will be published in End of January or first week of February 2011.
