KEA Will Provide The Resources For Companies

Rural students can look forward to a slew of career opportunities. The government decided to introduce campus recruitment for BE rural students from this academic year.

“We’ll provide a platform for the placement process in colleges that don’t get offers from any companies. Students who have not been placed till the fifth semster can approach the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA),” said Aravind Limbavali, higher education minister, after the governing council meeting to discuss the preparedness of the department to handle CET. “The resources for companies coming to the campus will be from KEA,” he added.

This time, there’ll be five counseling centers in the state — the new ones are PES College in Shimoga and Sahyadri Institute of Engineering and Management in Mangalore.

CET ACT COMING UP
“From the next academic year, the CET Act will come into effect. This is as per the direction of the Supreme Court,” Aravind Limbavali, higher education minister said. The Act would determine the fee structure and seat sharing in professional courses and ensure that there are no problems in this. The fee determination committee for engineering/medical colleges will be set up next year. Till then, mutual consensus will be the solution, he said.

“We welcome colleges who want to join CET. They can write to KEA and their names will be included in the brochure. This will provide more opportunities for students through CET,” he said.
