KPSC KAS Exam Notification Announced
Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) will conduct Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) Prelim Exams in May/June 2010 to recruit KAS Officers for 268 Vacant posts in Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ Grade in various departments of Karnataka. The Notification regarding the same will be published at the KPSC Website
The Applications should be submitted online and there will be one month time for apply online from the date of publication of notification. As per the changes in the Recruitment rules and regulations the Students who are pursuing their final Year/Semester Degree course can also apply for the post provided they produce the original marks card and degree certificate during the Main KAS Exam. As the UPSC allowed Final Year/Semester students to apply for IAS Exam KPSC also following the same procedure.There will be no Tahasildar posts this time. No change in Syllabus as well. Candidates can follow the old syllabus.

KPSC has not yet issued the Notification for KAS Exam. It will be announced by 12th Jan, 2010. Please visit this website again. We will upload the Notification and Application Procedure. Application for the KAS should be applied online. Application form will not be available for print out as such.

The Exat Date of Exam is not yet announced. So at this point of time we cannot say anything about date clash. We need to wait till KPSC Officially announces the KAS Notification.

You should have some patience. KPSC has not announced KAS Exams officially. You need to wait for awhile to get the official notification and Syllabus.
You can prepare for KAS by using the KAS Prep Guides and magazines available. You can also join the KAS Prep Courses conducted by many Institutes.

Yes! This time there will be no Tahasildar Posts. But There are various other posts for which KAS candidates will be chosen like the administrators at various departments of Govt. of Karnataka.

It's compulsory that you have completed the Degree. Having a paper back in degree will disqualify you to take the exam. Please clear all the subjects and then only you can apply for the exam.

It's a very Frequently Asked question by Engineers(With non-convensional courses) that what subject should they take up for KAS exam. We have already answered these questions at another Post comment. Please do visit the link and let us know still you have any doubts. Here is the link. What Subjects choose for KAS Exam?
For MBA is considered, it's better to go with Management subject. If you are comfortable with Statistics you can also take up that.
But as you have already decided to choose from Sociology, Public Admin and Hindi again it depends on your interest and ability. As an MBA myself I would have chosen Public Admin.

Please read the above comments. There is an answer for your question. The Optional Subjects need not be the subjects you have read in your degree or master degree. It can be any subject that you are comfortable preparing and confident of doing well. So you can choose mathematics and kannada if you are good at it.

You cannot download the application. You have to fill up the online application. Once you submit your application online then you will get a printout of the submitted application form with bank fee challan. Take printout of both and you need to pay fee at the mentioned SBM, SBH Branches.

Hi Mohan,
Your Question is answered several times. Please do consider visiting the threads and comments.
For your kind information I'm posting the same here.
Though our education system and branches in Engineering have increased, our Good old Govt. and KPSC has not yet updated theirs.
So we can see only the traditional Engineering subjects like Mechanica, Electrical and Civil nothing else. But as of now what you can do is instead of focussing on engineering subjects, focus on the subjects that you are pretty interested and confortable studying yourself.
We are very sorry say this but have no option. If you are comfortable with core subjects like Mathematics, physics, kannada, English, Management etc you can choose from any two out of this.
But it's going to be bit difficult for you to prepare a new subject and appear for KAS exams. But nothing is impossible. As you are an Engineering student we guess you are pretty smart and intelligent and can take up any core subjects and with help of some guide, tution can make it in KAS. All the best.

If you haven't applied already, then you need to try next time. Choose the subject that you are comfortable preparing.

KAS Exams will be conducted only when the need arises. It's not conducted periodically. All candidates has to go through both Prelims and Main Exams. At this point of time you cannot apply for the exam as the last date to apply is already over. So this time you have missed the train. Subscribe to our news feeds for further updates regarding KAS. From this year Govt. has decided to conduct KAS exams every year. You can subscribe to our free newsletter to get the updates as soon as it is published. Just type your e-mail ID at right side widget and subscribe to e-mail alerts.

This is santhosh,I am a diplomo holder in E&C Engg.I am a Govt Employe appointed in 23-07-2003,Now i am having 7 years experience. my DOB is 11-06-1980, Now I wanted to do BA course to attend future competative exams,If I complete the BA Exam in 2013,

Any candidates who have completed graduation can take KAS Exam.
For NET Exam you need to complete Post Graduation. Or atleast you have to be in final year of Post-Graduation.
