ReplyDelete@ Praveen Kamath : i meant my assumption for GS not for optional. for GS the cut off might be around 50 to 55%. For optionals it will be 65 to 70% as optionals were very easy this time. you have to score the minimum cut off marks in both GS and optional to get qualified for the mains.

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have this little concern about sociology optional. Many questions were out of syllabus(if this is the case then what is the need to give any syllabus). Why this injustice has been done from past two or three times to the people who are taking sociology as their optional, here how can anybody expect to compete with students of other optionals(It was within syllabus and very easy as they have said me).If you agree with me,please do let me know your opinion..I do really feel this is nothing but injustice and I request concerned person to make it as subject wise scaling as in UPSC prelims. Thanks.
what could be the cut off for gm ladies?
ReplyDeletewhat is the cutoff for 2a this time
ReplyDeleteand also for gm.
put your views in this regard
i scored 68 in gs and 78 in optional,is there any chances?. this is my first attempt.

ReplyDeleteMr.Ateeq Khaliq,
ReplyDeleteTo become a Civil Servant you need to have Positive Thinking and Self-Confidence. Don't try to beat the system. Instead learn it and Prepare well. Nobody ask you to choose the tough subject. You had all the options to choose from. You have chosen the tough subject and now blaming KPSC for that. They have clearly mention the rules and regulations of recruitment process.
We won't publish comments which spreads hatred negative thoughts, abuse and demeaning. You are free to express your thoughts without abusing any organization or person. They have 200 odd positions open and more than one candidates appear for the exam. How do you think they filter out the candidates?
If you are OK with the system followed by CAT, MAT, IIT-JEE to eliminate students, why you have problem with KPSC following same kind of system. Do you expect KPSC to conduct interview for more than one lakh candidates just to choose some 200 odd candidates?
Come with a detailed insightful analysis of the issue, we are happy to publish it.
Note: We are an independent organization that provide career and academic news through this website. We are not associated with any other organization including KPSC.
@ news bird,Sir we are not complaining about the system ,neither we are telling some optional is very tough (if that is the case no one will take it).what is our concern is unknowingly some optional will be easy and some optional will be tough when prepared by kpsc, and we are not telling this is done intentionally. They can implement subject wise scaling which is the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteWe are not trying to beat the system sir, we know which is impossible to do. And we are not expecting KPSC to conduct interview for more than one lakh candidates just to choose some 200 odd candidates but what we are telling is when UPSC can implement the system which is very transparent why KPSC cannot implement it??.The way they are selecting candidates is not fair and just not right.
I have worked in corporate sector sir,and to tell frankly, there are no complaints about exams and interviews conducted by then where lakhs of students gets recruited every year.we are just asking why government exams are so different and biased?? why Sir?
I hope there is change someday, so somebody gets justice.
Thanks.
Dear Moderator,
ReplyDeleteI was very clear with my comment..I never said that KPSC to do 1 Lakhs interviews, But iam sure that they are not bent upon selecting according to subject wise cutoffs. If yes please enlighten me... Coming to "Don't try to beat the system", Changes is what permanent Mr Moderator If i would have not, then some one else.I have no where said "I HAVE NOT PREPARED WELL" in fact i was not happy with the syllabus what they have framed( Note: that i have used "I") and please let me know where i had used negative word,I will mend it in future 'IF' it really hurts.
Iam Happy that you took time to publish my comments. Thanks for that, but please dont jump into conclusions.
Thanks,
sir i have scored 59 in my optional(public administration) and 70 in general studies..i belong to 3a women category..what would be the cut off marks?are there any chances of me getting through this stage?
ReplyDeletehello sir,
ReplyDeletehow much marks we have to take in the prelims plz ......
n wen is the result

Keep Posting comments. Thank You.
Once again Mr.Ateeq Khaliq, We would like to clarify that you haven't used any negative thoughts in the comments. As you have mentioned that your comments are not published, we just try to let you know that when and why we block comments. We are not mentioning that your comments have such negative thoughts.
ReplyDeletejust Publishing of your comments got delayed. As this website is visited by lakhs of aspirants we don't want to spread the negative thoughts. (Please take a look at your earlier comment : I made a mistake-by taking This KPSC exam... it nothing but a Bias.)
Every system has got it's own flaws and just because of that we cannot keep distance from such things. If we want change, we have to change it. I'm sure We need people like you to change the system. Don't loose your confidence. Definitely you can go through it.
Dear Moderator,
ReplyDeleteI agree that their was some miss communications happened between us.I was taken back little when i got few comments from your side which reflects "No complains in my site".Just need to tell you that KPSC is not serious about it. Iam not against KPSC, but i started to compare between two organizations one is UPSC and another one is KPSC.
A student can do mistakes to 'n' number of time coz he/she is in the process of learning but committing mistake by a person who teach is totally unacceptable. If you happen to see the kind of questions in KAS 2010 GS you would have noticed that 4 questions were wrong. I have put one question on this site asking people to comment but dint get any answer nether from your side also. How can a organization which has a repute to recruit people to run the state make a mistake.
One question in KAS 2010 which was on constitutional part, I read it so many time to understand what exactly the examiner wants from me but finally it was a wrong question and i wasted time on it.
True I accept that one should be like a professor in solving the questions in CSEs but If some one has clearly defined the syllabus and askes errand questions, i can't blame on my part.Taking an example of sociology, you can't expect me to answer of every thought of what local "self styled" sociologists think.
Let me tell you honestly that i never accused you of being an agent of any organization/s.But at the end of the day you are the boss of this site and you have the authority to reflect what needed. I respect that I apologize for undue tensions b/w guys. But iam sure every institution should and can change over a period of time before it become obsolete.
No hard feelings from my side, I appreciate your concerns and you guys are awesome doing this work, you hardly find sites which caters student need for KPSC at the same time you will finds tonnes of material when compared to UPSC. hats off to you guys.
@ Chaitra T, you are perfectly right, i endorse your thoughts.Bravo.
Thanks a lot,
Have a fantastic day ahead.
Hi Mr.Ateeq Khaliq,
ReplyDeleteWe are not telling that you should not complain. You can always do that. Without complaining how can we bring the issue before the authorities.
What we are try to communicate with you is that whatever we discuss here should not affect anyone including our other readers negatively. If your comments inspires, motivates others to think about the issue and take positive action, it will be nice. That's it.
Their is an option to file objections for any questions and answers in the exam which are wrong. If you can collect the right answers and supporting materials and prove that the questions are out of syllabus or answers given are wrong, I hope authorities will take suitable action.
We all know that how Govt. Agencies work. We have to poke them to get the things done. Hope my reply clarifies your concerns.
Keep posting your valuable comments.
Hi Chaitra T,
We understood your concerns. We do receive many complaints from our customers and readers about KPSC not following transparent system. If we were in such higher position, we would not allowed such problems to arise in first place. But we are just an independent organization providing careers and academic news alerts to our valuable readers like you.
We would like to extend our support to all of you who are fighting for bringing more transparency to the system.
We do agree that KPSC is following UPSC in making KAS at par with IAS(In terms of the system). If UPSC have separate grade system for various subjects, KPSC should also bring the same change. They are slowly adopting themselves to new system.
If you can prepare a detailed article regarding the issue, we are more than happy to publish your articles and also bring the same to the notice of higher authorities at KPSC.
All the Best
News Bird Team.
Dear Moderator,
ReplyDeleteI think this discussion is leading no where. I am terminating at this point by saying that you can't be diplomatic at every time.I thought it would be better to bring this issue in front of every one. I believe in Transparency rather than philosophical term "Motivation". Be-live me its not that easy to demotivate a person with a single post.If that would have been then we would have so many people around us following the principles of Vivekananada or Mahamatma Gandhi by just reading their motivating thoughts. is this thing happening?
You can check Hindu news paper (dated 24th June) ,few people raised their voice against this 'Bias' as i told you its(which u dint agreed off course) time to CHANGE the attitude of KPSC.People have started to 'beat the system'.
I have collected and applied all the relevant materials about the wrong 'Questions' to KPSC. Hope they will comeback to me.I will surly let you the progress.
Have a fabulous day ahead!
@ Ateeq Khaliq ,
ReplyDeleteI was worried to see how many people are not very concerned and turning a blind eye to the loopholes..then i was very happy to see you raising this topic which is the need of the hour.I really appreciate that and thanks.
@news Bird Team,
In the first place i want to thank your team for giving us a stage to show our concerns. As i was deeply hurt and felt bad for students(including me)who may not get justice,i thought of bringing it into people's notice.I just hope for betterment of the system someday, so we all can have better society to live in.
Thanks.
@Chaitra,
ReplyDeleteI was so pissed off, because my all efforts of 1 year is all set to be washed in drains because of some easy (as one paper) paper set to choose only one section of people into the system. As down the line the conversation was not that thought provocative what i thought , moderator wanted me not to demotivate people by infusing negative thoughts and advice me not the beat the system, So chitra please be positive and hope for positive .... otherwise UPSC is their for next year and offcorse every year...
Hey

ReplyDeleteCan anyone has some clues about what could be the cutoff for GM, 3A and 3B category?
ReplyDelete@ Ateeq Khaliq,
ReplyDeleteHey thanks.I don't think just showing concern or pointing out mistakes in a system will infuse negative thoughts. We cannot demotivate people by just discussing some issues here, unless until they blindly accept it and i am very sure no one here is like that.If a system wants people to blindly accept what it is doing and not show its mistakes, then i don't think it is a right kind of motivation.Any way, We have done our duty and its up to them to reject or accept it.
Thanks again and all the best for u for everything in life.
Hey Guys,

Declaration of KAS Exam Results will take some time. The Mains exam will be usually in October. So you have to wait till the paper valuation is completed.
ReplyDelete@ Ateeq Khaliq,
ReplyDeleteHey thanks, no more exams for me :-(..i had a job in corporate, so i intend to continue that.
HI i want to know about the results and is ant qouta for Muslim i mean for 2b, i hope you will answers for my comment,,
ReplyDeletethank you all,,,
Even KPSC dont know the answers for History question paper! thats why they have taken this much of time to release revised key answers and not of History. So called `brilliant` question paper setters dont know the date of this years budget submitted date. Is it not shame on the part of Democracy? In some functions I`ve heard the long lectures of OUR Chairman, but he is silent in this issue of Scaling or Reexam.
ReplyDeleteToday, in Prajavani paper it is given that KPSC Secreatary is thinking to implement scaling system for KAS 2010, What is that scaling system? how it really works? what may be the cut-off for Public administration?
ReplyDeleteScaling System is used by various Public Service Examinations like UPSC and other states. It is nothing but each subject will be given weight age based on the no. of students appeared in that subject and reserve so much percentage of seats for each subject. So that candidates from all the subjects will get a fair chance to pass the KAS exam.
ReplyDeleteSome subjects may be easy and some subjects may be tough. There are instances that in particular batch there majority of candidates who passed KAS from few easy subjects. And also no single candidate from some tough subjects.
So to eliminate such flaw in the system, UPSC has adopted a method called scaling system where according to no. students choose particular subject for exam that much percentage students will be selected for mains exam.
Thank u Antharjaala com. OK, they vil give weightage to all the subjects, then how they will give reservation to all categories and subjects?
ReplyDeleteHi all,
ReplyDeleteGAZETTED PROBATIONERS (PRELIMINARY) EXAMINATION -2010 (REVISED KEY ANSWERS)has been published on the kpsc website.
For e.g let's say their are four subjects A, B, C, & D. out of 100 candidates appeared for the exam, 40 candidates choose subject A. 30 candidates Subject B, 20 Candidates Subject C & 10 Candidates choose Subject D. Finally if they have to recruit 10 candidates then. Finally there will be four people who chose subject A, 3 people who chose Subject B, 2 persons who chose Subject C & 1 person who chose Subject D.
ReplyDeleteI hope the example is clear.
Thnq Antharjala.com. What ever it may be, matter is over na? they have chosen their `own` people. They have treated all in one way, if so what is the necessity to give reservation like SC ST OBC? instead of it they would have selected only `merit` students of that particular subject.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Writ people? What is going on in the KAT?
Which is the most useless and careless PSC in the world? it is no doubt KPSC, as it has no time to frame its question paper to prestigious exam like KAS. Thats why they have borrowed the question paper from a private coaching centre. If so, then what is the necessity to have question paper setters? And revised key answers are also requires revision. Thats why it has that much of concern of selecting the right students to the adminstrative wing. Dear Bheemappaji, plz cancel this type of Preliminary exam and go for new type of exam like scaling or one common paper for all. R u satisfied with the quality of these so called mains selected candidates?
ReplyDeleteFor the sake of talent search, plz put little bit tough Compulsory English paper in the mains and see howmany can qualify?
hi guys,
ReplyDeleteI think people in kpsc are just busy in doing their own thing and I feel there is no body in kpsc to listen to our concerns..But that doesnt mean we should sit quiet,so some of our students want to file it in court..If u r like one of us,who wants nothing but justice please join us in this struggle...Please contact any of these numbers for further information..9482714852, 9141311116 , 9591923407..
Lets make this happen so please join us..
Thanks.
hai guys i have cleared prelims exam with histroy as optional i had scored 320
ReplyDeletehai guys i have cleared prelims exam with history as optionals i had scored 320
ReplyDeleteany idea which subject cleared more this time history was too tough i cleared by luck
ReplyDeletei am waiting for kpsc web site to anounce cut off any idea for what was cut off this time
ReplyDeleteDuniya ka sabse careless PSC, they dont have even little concenrn about the talented students. I know one friend who has scored 112 in Kannada and 45 in GS, but he is selected. I have scored 95 in GS but not selected due to tough optional paper. this is how they are cheating the talentd students.
ReplyDeleteAug 9,2010 KPSC secretary said KPSC is planning to implement scaling system for kas 2010, but on 11th August they`ve released eligible candidates list in the tradional and unscientific way. What is the value to the words of Secretary? the list is released without signature of Secretary!
ReplyDeleteAnybody has any idea that how many candidates from Kannada optional entered Mains?
it is said that all general merit others candidated who have cleared prelims are from kannada optional then why do we need other optional subject
ReplyDeleteNo, it is not true, GM others cut off is around 310-320. Even I couldn't clear prelims. It is true that Kannada optionist are the major share holder however there are also candidates from History, Public administrationa and other subjects.... Before blaming the system we should blame ourselfs... We are all aware that every year any one particular subject candidates will be selected more compared to others... Y we kept quite when the notification was issued? What if our optional paper was easy compared to others?? We are all selffish, we will not revolt unless we are victims. No body wants to take any responsibility..
ReplyDeleteIn karnataka intelligents opt only Kannada. Only fools can take other optionals. They want only Kannadigas,
ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeletei want to see my result.can you pls help me how i can check my result in the sense total marks secured
Manju
As of now you can only check the selection list in KPSC website link provided in the post. Once the Results page is activated, the same will be updated here. So subscribe to our newsletter, e-mail alerts to keep track of the results.
ReplyDeletei think at 99% of gm others will be from kannada optional
ReplyDeleteif 320 or 315 is cutt off;any one should score 100 in optionals and 65 in gs- for gm others
getting 100 in optionals is impossible in other optional except kannada
getting 90 is an impossible in gs---- so averge gay gets 65 to 75
better guy gets 85 and best guy gets 95
so best guy gets 90 in gs he should get at 95 in optonal
which is impossible except kannada
why i am telling this is an average kannada optonal guy with as optional as scored 100 in kannada and 65 in gs has cleared
this time
only the rare best guys of other optionals and gs has cleared the prelims it may be less than 1% of the total who took the exam
if this is the case y do kpsc has given 20 other optional
they can give only kannada has optionals it a true in justice
Dear Bheemappaji, we dont have any uncles as u had when u entered the service through KPSC, if u are really talentd person u would have know the feelings of other talented persons. I can get u 50 persons who got more than 100 in kannada optional in a small town like our HOSPET, but can u give 10 people in the great Bangalore, who got more than 95 in PA r History?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeletehowever KPSC didnot give justice to talented students, then what is our Honourable court is doing? I think, even law is also in the side of that bloody KPSC.
Anybody plz tell me what hapend in the KAT?
Firstly, please read and understand the
ReplyDeleteSCaLING SYSTEM verdict by Honorable Court in case of UPSC
1. http://cic.gov.in/HC-Rulings/UPSC-Vs-CICandOrs.pdf
Secondly,
read the following Deccan Herald article "KPSC aspirants demand scaling system" dated Jun 26
2. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/77707/
Implementing scaling system has been in place since 1979 in case of UPSC and other state PSC, why not in KPSC?
Filing of RTI query will give exact picture regarding which optional candidates got selected to main exam disproportionately. But it will NOT lead to implementation of scaling system.
Maybe a Public interest litigation petition in Court will find the examination process in violation of Kothari committee Report mandate and UPSC/ KPSC constitution.

what the hell kat doing?
ReplyDeletekpsc is going to chage the syllabus in coming 2011 kas exams, it doesn't mean that we keep quite for what happened in kas 2010.we should not stop our fight against kpsc. every year kpsc used to declare cut off and how many candidates cleared prelims in each subject?but this time it didn't declare, whats the reason? is it because 50% of the candidates have passed from kannada subject? to hide this mistake kpsc is next time introducing common syllabus to all.so don't keep quite, fight fight and fight until we get justice.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody knows the status of KAS 2010 case in KAT?
ReplyDeletecan any one tell what is the cutoff marks for 1G?
ReplyDeletecan anyone tell me
ReplyDeletewhen will be kas 2011 exam
when will the notification come?
if there is common syllabus in 2011 kas prelims there is no question of scaling system. but if they do not introduce common syllabus there will be lot of discrimination between the optionals. then before the prelims exams only we should go to KAT and stay there process.otherwise kpsc will give same injustice what it has been giving last few years
ReplyDeleteplease anybody inform me about kas 2011 notification. and also about the syllabus for prelims and mains
