Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) are the residential schools across the country. One vidyalaya each in every district of India. The schools are managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti an autonomous body under HR Ministry of Government of India. To get admission to Navodaya Vidyalayas students need to appear for an entrance exam conducted by NVS. Only on the basis of Merit and considering the reservations NVS selects students for the JNVs located in the corresponding district where the pupil currently studying.JNV_LogoAll the students studying in class V are eligible to appear for Navodaya Entrance Exam. The applications are available at the BEO (Block Education Officer) Office and Principal of Navodaya Vidyalaya. The applications need to be sent only through the school where the student studying at present. Through Entrance Exam students can get selected to study at Navodaya Vidyalaya from Class VI to XII (Provided they secure adequate marks in X class to continue to Class XII).

Navodaya Entrance Exam 2011 was scheduled to be conducted on February 6th but is cancelled by the samiti. Now the exam will be conducted on July 10th 2011 Sunday (10:00AM – 12:00PM). Students can collect their hall tickets from BEO Office or respective Navodaya Vidyalayas from June 18th.
